17 new COVID-19 deaths and 1007 new cases in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health (Minsa) announced on Thursday, June 25, that there are 1007 new cases of the virus in 24 hours. According to the official report, the coronavirus has left a total of 564 dead in the country.

According to the official data, the total number of infected with the virus in the country is now 29,037, while 14,800 patients have clinically recovered from the disease. There are currently 13,673 active cases.

Deaths

A total of 17 new deaths were recorded over 24 hours. Eight of the new death cases were women at age between 57 and 96. Nine of the death cases were men at age between 48 and 71. Most death cases are age related, had diabetes or other heart conditions.

Testing

3,224 new tests were conducted in since the last report. The number of total tests is now 117,266, of which 85,384 were negative.

Testing rate is reported to cover 2,741 per 100,000 population.

Treatment

12,111 patients are in home isolation and 736 are in so-called hospital hotels.

The Ministry of Health also reported that 686 are in the hospital ward and 140 in the intensive care units.

Cases by provinces: Panama 18,173, Panama Oeste 5,171, Colón 1,127, Veraguas 1,067, Chiriquí 986, Bocas del Toro 898, Darién 849, Guna Yala 256, Coclé 227, Ngäbe Buglé 211, Herrera 39 and Los Santos 23.
