About 160 Panamanians who were stranded in the United States, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, arrived in Panama on Sunday afternoon.
This after a repatriation plan was drawn up, in which the Ministry of Health (
Minsa) granted the corresponding permit for the staggered entry of around 300 passengers every 10 days.
Upon arrival in Panama, returnees will be subjected to a mandatory quarantine at their homes, and will be monitored through an application for mobile phones, which can ensure that the sanitary protocol is followed and stay at home through the facial recognition and georeferencing.
This is the fourth transfer made. On May 29, more than 100 Panamanians who were stranded in Cuba and Mexico also returned to the country on a humanitarian flight.
