153 people repatriated to the US on a humanitarian flight

A total of 153 people were repatriated this Tuesday, May 19, from Panama to the United States on a humanitarian flight.

The Americans were stranded in the country in the midst of the quarantine imposed to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The Spirit Airlines flight with American passengers departed from Tocumen International Airport.

The travelers went through a biosecurity process for entering, registering and leaving Panama.

This is not the first humanitarian flight that is coordinating through the embassies and with the endorsement and approval of the Ministry of Health, through the Spirit Airline, according to an earlier statement by the US Embassy in Panama, there was no plan to organize other flights for the next 30-60 days, but there is one organized for May 25 from Panama to Miami.
