11 new COVID-19 deaths; cases increase to 28,030 in Panama

The Ministry of Health (Minsa) announced on Wednesday, June 24, that there are 716 new cases of the virus in 24 hours. According to the official report, the coronavirus has left a total of 547 dead in the country.
According to the official data, the total number of infected with the virus in the country is now 28,030, while 14,794 patients have clinically recovered from the disease. There are currently 12,680 active cases.
Deaths
A total of 11 new deaths were recorded over 24 hours. Six of the new death cases were women at age between 22 and 90. Five of the death cases were men at age between 59 and 85. The total death rate from the virus is 1.96%.
Testing
2,307 new tests were conducted in since the last report. The number of total tests is now 114,042, of which 83,167 were negative.
Testing rate is reported to cover 2,665 per 100,000 population.
Treatment
11,153 patients are in home isolation and 766 are in so-called hospital hotels.
The Ministry of Health also reported that 649 are in the hospital ward and 130 in the intensive care units.
