1,147 new COVID-19 cases brings Panama total to 49,243 cases

Ministry of Health of Panama (Minsa) reported for this July 15, 22 new deaths from COVID-19, which bring the deaths from this new coronavirus to 982 in the country.

The report also indicates that 1,147 new cases were detected, this brings the number of infections to 49,243.

So far the fatality number of this disease in the country is 2.0%.

While to avoid the spread of the virus, some 21,625 people are kept in home isolation, of which 21,009 are at home; 616 staying in hotel-hospitals. The hospitalized number 1,219 and 1,056 of them are in the ward and 163 in intensive care units.

Panama has carried out 3,229 tests in the last 24 hours, for a percentage of positivity of 35%. In total, some 174,345 tests have been performed, of which 71% were negative and 29% positive.

Among those recovered, the country has 25,417 patients and active cases total 22,844.
