Workers clean up scaffolding remains in Happy Valley

Workers have been cleaning up the remains of the fallen scaffolding on Broadwood Road in Happy Valley overnight, while the traffic remained closed.

On Friday morning, the 100m x 150m scaffolding surrounding the building on 4 – 38 Broadwood Road was blown by strong wind, causing it to bend and land on two cars driving past the road.

A female worker was killed in the incident, while a driver was injured.

Debris and bamboo sticks were left at the scene after the incident. The Transport Department also announced that all lanes of the road (both bounds) have been closed.

In the early hours today (Saturday), workers have been sent to the scene to clean up the mess overnight. They then paused their work after the observatory issued the No. 8 Strong Wind Signal at 6.40am.
