Worker injured by swinging crane hook at Tin Shui Wai site

A 25-year-old crane operator was hit in the chest by a swinging crane hook at a construction site on Hung Nga Road in Tin Shui Wai on Wednesday morning.

The incident that happened at around 8.56am this morning saw the crane hook knock over the worker named Lam after hitting him in his chest, with the worker coughing up blood immediately after the impact.

He remained conscious and was rushed to Tuen Mun Hospital for treatment.

Police are now investigating the industrial accident, while the Labour Department said they would arrange for officials to follow up on the incident.
