Woman airlifted to hospital after collapsing at Tai Wai hiking trail

A female hiker in her 60s was airlifted to the hospital after she collapsed at a Tai Wai hiking trail where she had been trekking.

The woman and her husband were hiking along a trail that starts at Puguangming Temple when the incident happened at around 10am this morning.

According to police, the victim collapsed and passed out on her way.

Emergency personnel were called in after her husband alerted authorities. A Government Flying Service helicopter was deployed to the scene to airlift the woman to Eastern Hospital after she was carried down the trail to an open area by rescuers.
