Two jockeys fell off horses in the same race at Sha Tin Racecourse

Two jockeys fell off their horses in the same race at Sha Tin Racecourse today. Both the riders were conscious after the incident and under medical check-up, while one of the horses needed to be put down.

The incidents both occurred in Race 9, a 1,200-meter race, as jockey Jack Wong was first dislodged from Highland Fortune right after the start of the race.

Another jockey Alexis Badel fell off from Fantastic Way over the concluding stages, about 50 meters away from the finishing line.

The on-course medical team examined two riders involved. Jack Wong has no apparent injury and will be monitored further by the Chief Medical Officer. Alexis Badel remains conscious after the incident and has been taken to the hospital for further examination.

After examination by veterinary, Fantastic Way was unable to be treated for its leg fractures and needed to be put down, while Highland Fortune was unhurt.
