Two arrested by the national security police for seditious acts

Two men were arrested by the National Security Department of the police force on Tuesday for suspected of "doing an act or acts with seditious intention".

The duo, aged 18 and 29, were arrested in Kwai Tsing and Sham Shui Po respectively.

Investigation revealed that they were suspected of publishing posts on social platforms to disseminate seditious messages that promote feelings of ill-will and enmity between different classes of the population of Hong Kong and incite the use of violence.

Police conducted searches at the arrested persons' residences. Some electronic communication devices used to publish seditious messages were seized.

The arrested persons are being detained for further enquiries.
