Three men were on Thursday night arrested in Mong Kok as frightened pedestrians saw the trio gunspinning in their car and reported it to police.

Gunspinning, also known as gunplay, is when a person spins the gun by the trigger guard, as in Western movies.

Police officers soon rushed to the scene on Shantung Street after receiving the report at 8.15pm and cordoned off the area. They also brought drug detector dogs and surrounded the black seven-seater, in which they seized an air gun and 3.2g of marijuana worth HK$600.

Officers then arrested the 23-year-old driver, surnamed Wan, and two 25-year-old passengers, surnamed Lai and Ng, for possessing a dangerous drug and imitation firearm.

All three arrestees are remanded in police custody. The case is now handled by the Mong Kok district crime investigation team.
