Tourism staffers to apply for vaccination center jobs until Monday

Staffers from the tourism sector can apply for the temporary jobs at vaccination centers created by the government until next Monday, April 12.

Earlier the government created around 2,000 positions across all 24 vaccination centers in the city. Appointees will be responsible to assist in administrative works and vaccination operations, within a 5-month employment period.

Eligible applicants include tour guides, tour escorts, staffers of travel agents and hotels and coaches drivers. Their monthly salaries will range from HK$10,000 to HK$40,000, depending on their positions and whether they work full-time or part-time.

Some 1,600 positions among the 2,000 will be registration workers at the centers with a daily wage of HK$1,300. They will be working for around 104 to 182 working hours each month. Application will close at noon next Monday, April 12.

Workers will be responsible to assist in online registration and handling enquiries. Applicants should have completed at least secondary 5 or sat the HKDSE. Staffers who have been working in the tourism sector for at least 5 years can also apply.

The scheme also includes around 140 officer and vice-officer positions, with monthly salaries ranging between HK$30,000 to HK$40,000. Application for these positions closed at noon on this Saturday, April 10.

Officers are responsible for the administrative works of the vaccination center, liaising with the medical team and handling enquiries. Applicants should be university graduates with at least 7 years of work experience, in which 3 years at management level.

The position of vice officer requires applicants to hold a diploma with at least 5 years of work experience, in which a year at management level.
