Tocumen Airport requests temporary suspension of contracts after pandemic damage

Tocumen International Airport requested the Ministry of Labor and Labor Development (Mitradel) of Panama, the temporary suspension of a large number of its collaborators.

The suspension will be for a period of 30 extendable days, which does not imply termination of the contract or the employment relationship.

We are confident that when the order restricting international flights and the order to close the commercial establishments that operate at our international airports are lifted, we can all re-establish activities together, the airport authorities indicate.

Collaborators to whom the measure applies, will continue to maintain their private insurance benefits from the company, from the Social Security Fund (CSS), and will be able to receive the benefits and aid that the Government is offering and will be able to return to their posts. of work once this measure is completed.

Initially, the airport administration implemented measures to avoid affecting workers' income, including teleworking and the granting of expired, current or advanced vacations, which allowed for full remuneration and the payment of the first installment of the 'Thirteenth Month'.
