A photo showing a cat wrapped in tape with the cat’s paws constricted to its abdomen was widely circulated online, stirring outrage on the internet.

A netizen posted the photo online to a cat lovers’ Facebook group, exposing a Hong Kong woman who did this to her cat.

In the screen capture shared by the netizen, the woman wrote she wanted to find a cat willing to sleep in bed with her, having the cat’s paws around her neck.

“The previous cat I owned would sleep beside me putting her paws around my neck, but this cat failed to do so, I have no choice but to wrap the cat in tape,” the woman wrote.

Netizens also exposed the woman’s other vicious acts, where she bought a cat online only for a few days before she sold the cat to another owner. A photo the woman posted also saw her grabbing the cat by the neck single-handedly.

“I feel bad for the kitten having to go through all this, being tossed around like merchandise. They should be loved instead of tortured!” a netizen wrote.

Others also joined in, criticizing the woman being cold-blooded.

“It must be so painful when ripping off the tape from the cat! Unacceptable!” another netizen wrote, adding he had already filed a report to the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

In Hong Kong, cruelty to animals carries a maximum penalty of three years in jail and a fine of up to HK$200,000.
