Sir Keir Starmer was visiting the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow, Essex, a day after nearby resident Sir Rod Stewart offered to pay for medical scans to help people get treatment more quickly.

The musician also gave his backing to Labour after being a previous Conservative supporter.
