Special transport arrangements as Kompasu triggers signal No.8

Hong Kong’s public transports have adopted special arrangements after the Hong Kong Observatory issued storm signal No.8 at 5.20pm on Tuesday.

According to the present forecast track, severe tropical storm Kompasu will be closest to Hong Kong on Wednesday morning, skirting within 400 kilometers to the south of the territory.

The gale or storm signal no. 8 will remain in force at least before sunrise on Wednesday morning.

Railway services are operating at limited frequencies as at 9.30pm Tuesday.

Kwun Tong Line 10-minute intervals

Island Line 10-minute intervals

South Island Line 10-minute intervals

North Point Station - Po Lam Station 10-minute intervals

Tiu Keng Leng Station - Lohas Park Station 10-minute intervals


Tung Chung Line 10-minute intervals

Disneyland Resort Line 20-minute intervals

Airport Express 30-minute intervals

East Rail Line
Hung Hom Station - Sheung Shui Station 8-10 -minute intervals

Tuen Ma Line 8-10-minute intervals


Light Rail 10-20 minute intervals

MTR Bus No service

KMB and LWB:

The last bus for most daytime services will depart at 8pm Tuesday. Passengers can use the App1933 to check the schedule.

NWFB and Citybus:

Most routes will be suspended from 7.30pm or 8pm Tuesday.
Citybus routes S1, B3X, B5 will maintain limited service.

Ferry services:

In view of the tropical cyclone, ferry and kaito ferry services running between Peng Chau - Mui Wo - Chi Ma Wan - Cheung Chau, Tuen Mun - Tung Chung - Sha Lo Wan - Tai O, Discovery Bay – Mui Wo, Tap Mun - Wong Shek Pier, Ma Liu Shui - Tap Mun, and Aberdeen - Po Toi Island have been suspended.

Most of Hong Kong & Kowloon Ferry and Sun Ferry’s routes had their last sailings around 6pm.
