Sinaproc: the second tropical wave enters Panama

The rains have intensified in the last hours in various parts of the country, the National Civil Protection System (Sinaproc) reported Monday night, May 25.

According to Sinaproc, it is the product of the incursion of the second tropical wave on Panama, which entered through Darien, according to the report by Hidromet de Etesa.

Sinaproc reported that the rains will go from moderate to heavy, especially in the eastern part of the country.

The storm would last until Tuesday.

Scattered showers and heavy rains have occurred during the afternoon and evening of Monday in Darien, East Panama, Guna Yala, Colón, La Chorrera, Coclé, Los Santos, Herrera, Pacific coasts of Veraguas and Chiriquí.

Sinproc reminds citizens not to walk on flooded roads, or cross rivers or streams.

Last Friday, the first tropical wave in the country was registered, causing floods, tree falls, landslides and wall falls in various parts of the country.
