This came a month after new Director of Broadcasting Patrick Li Pak-chuen took up the reigns at RTHK on March 1, and have suspended multiple programmes of the public broadcaster.
In a reply upon media enquiries, RTHK said it is reviewing its operation after the Governance and Management of RTHK Review Report identified room for improvement in a wide range of areas including corporate governance.
"RTHK is reviewing its operation, including the mechanism of nomination of programmes for local, Mainland and international awards," a spokesman for RTHK said.
"In this regard, RTHK decides not to nominate programmes for the selection of awards during the transition period and would withdraw the entries submission in totality," he added.
It is understood that the entries submitted includes the local Consumer Rights Reporting Awards, as well as international film and TV festivals in the US.
Organizer of the Human Right Press Awards also confirmed that the Director of Broadcasting has already been in touch with them to withdraw RTHK's submissions.
However, as the evaluation of submissions have already commenced, and only nominees can withdraw their own submissions, therefore judges will evaluate all RTHK submissions as usual, according to organizers.
Several countries, including France, have suspended flights to and from Brazil due to fears over the more contagious coronavirus variant spreading there.
