Regional jobless rate disparities suggest labor mobility remains an issue in Hungary, even as some areas face a labor market squeeze, according to a report by state news wire MTI.
County-level data released by the Central Statistical Office (KSH) show unemployment stood as high as 11.3% in Nógrád County, in the north of the country, in the second quarter and as low as 1.2% in Tolna County, in the southwest.
The jobless rates in Hungary's easternmost counties ranged from 7% in Békés County to 9.4% in Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County.
In the northwest of the country, jobless rates stood at 1.4% in Győr-Moson-Sopron County and at 1.9% in Fejér County.
In Budapest, the jobless rate was 3% in Q2.
