US President Joe Biden is set to travel to Europe next week for a three-nation trip focused on reinforcing the international coalition backing Ukraine in its fight against Russia.
Biden will attend a NATO summit, where Sweden's membership bid is expected to be discussed, as well as hold talks with Nordic counterparts in Helsinki.
Before his trip, Biden will host Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson at the White House and meet with Turkish and Swedish diplomats at NATO headquarters.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has called for an "invitation" at the Vilnius summit for Ukraine to join NATO once the war with Moscow is over.
Biden will also visit Windsor Castle to meet with King Charles III and hold talks with British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.
