Police searching for trio who throw molotov cocktails at restaurant

A restaurant in Shui Wo Street Market in Kwun Tong was damaged by three men in black shirts in the early hours today, who threw two molotov cocktails at its gate.

Three men in black shirts got into the market around 5am and targeted the restaurant located on the fourth floor. They threw two molotov cocktails at the gate of the restaurant, setting fire at the scene and blackening the gate and the floor. Shattered glass could be spotted on the floor.

The trio soon ran away after setting the fire. Other merchants at the scene then informed the 59-year-old owner surnamed Yung of the incident and filed a report to police.

Firemen arrived at the scene and raised suspicions. The case is listed as arson and is now handled by Kwun Tong district crime squad.

There was a security camera installed at the restaurant and officers will check the footage to see if the crime was recorded. They will also investigate the motives of the offenders.
