A video shared on social media showed a uniformed police officer was suspected of taking a nap in the break room while on duty. The Police said the officer involved had violated the regulations and was transferred to internal duties pending further investigation.
It was understood that the video was filmed at the break room of the temporary base for Beijing's Office for Safeguarding National Security in Hong Kong that located at Metropark Hotel Causeway Bay.
The officer was filmed wearing a black sleep mask and lying down on several chairs, with his holster removed and placed beside him. He also took off his shoes.
The police said that the officer concerned has violated the police regulations including sleeping while on duty and failing to properly manage firearms and equipment.
He had been temporarily transferred to internal duties pending further investigation, during which he will not be allowed to carry a firearm.
