A survey carried out by Manpower showed negative employment trends for the next quarter in Panama, with -9 percentage points.
Ignacio Casillas, Manpower director, said that all sectors have a significant decrease in job creation.
For example, manufacturing has -7; trade -8; communication and transport -13 and the service sector is the most affected with -16.
Casillas explained that according to the survey, 2% of the sectors state that they have expectations of increasing employment, 14% will decrease the payroll, 73% before keeping the payroll, 15% still do not know.
"In the entire region, there is not a single country, at least in Latin America, that has a positive perspective," he warned.
Meanwhile, 19% of respondents consider they can recover from the crisis in 3 months, 16% between 4 and 9 months, 15% say it will take a year and 35% do not know if they can recover from the losses.
