Panama - Four dead 36 injured in traffic accidents

Four people died and 36 were injured in 90 traffic accidents in the 24 hours preceding the Sunday morning, December 26, release of a National Police Operations report.

Deputy Commissioner Luis Hernández said that 1,260 drivers received tickets for traffic violations 358 for exceeding the speed limits and 194 for driving under the influence of alcohol.

He reiterated the call to people that, if they are going to drink alcohol during the end-of-year festivities, to have a designated driver or use public transport.

In addition, urged drivers to wear a seatbelt and avoid technological devices while driving.
