Nine hurt in four vehicle pile-up on Tuen Muen Road

Four vehicles, including one bus and three trucks, were involved in a multi-vehicle crash this morning on the express line of Tuen Mun Road toward Kowloon, causing nine people to be injured.

Eight passengers of the double-decker bus and one truck driver were reported to be hurt but with minor injuries when the accident occurred at 10:40am today outside a shopping mall in Tuen Mun.

The injured were sent to the hospital for treatment after the police arrived at the scene and blocked off the section of the road.

Besides, two trucks were reported to have collided head-to-head on San Tam Road in Yuen Long this morning at 6:56am, with two drivers trapped inside the vehicles.

One driver was freed by a passer-by and left lying on the ground awaiting rescue, according to the force, while the other was later freed by firefighters, having sustained injury to his feet. The two were sent to Pok Oi Hospital by ambulance.

Two accidents are still under investigation.
