The group of Nicaraguan migrants, who left last Thursday from Panama, have not been able to go to their respective towns due to the decision of the Nicaraguan authorities, it was reported this Saturday.
The migrants, who left Panama on buses from the Albrook terminal, passed through Costa Rican soil and after almost three days of travel, their march was stopped at the border between
Costa Rica and Nicaragua.
So far, the specific reason why the Nicaraguan authorities are preventing the entry of their compatriots is unknown.
According to the report, the Public Force accompanied the group of Nicaraguan migrants on their way to the border area of Peñas Blancas that belongs to Nicaragua, where the national authorities prevented them from passing despite the fact that they fulfilled all the requirements to enter, reported the Nicaraguan portal Despacho505.
According to this information, there are about 96 migrants who are being held at the border.
These Nicaraguan migrants asked to leave Panama as a result of the
coronavirus pandemic since they were out of work and had no way to generate income.
