Netflix Cracks Down on UK Password Sharing: Household Members Only Allowed to Use Accounts

Netflix has started cracking down on password sharing in the UK by sending out emails to customers who are sharing their accounts with those outside their household.

The email reminds sharers that their account should only be used by one household.

Netflix has been looking for new revenue streams and has already tested this policy in some markets, including Canada, New Zealand, Portugal, and Spain.

Under the new policy, people within the same household can continue sharing their account and use it on various devices when travelling, while those outside the household will have to pay an additional fee if they share a password with family or friends who live in a different household.

The company has estimated that more than 100 million households are sharing their Netflix account credentials with others.
