A woman has been remanded to a psychiatric facility after her five-year-old boy died of multiple injuries, with his death suspected to have been caused by abuse.
Lai Shing-tai, 33, has been charged with one count of murder and was brought to the West Kowloon magistrate's court on Monday morning.
The charge alleged that Lai murdered his son - who was found with more than 30 injuries and bruises - in Sham Shui Po on Friday.
She was not required to enter a plea and was told to remain at Siu Lam Psychiatric Centre until her next court appearance on November 28 to give time for further investigation by the prosecutors.
