Man charged with manslaughter over Tin Shui Wai street fight death

A 61-year-old man was accused to have killed a man aged 63 last Saturday at a street fight in Tin Shui Wai.

At about 9pm on June 25, a group of people got into a conflict on the pavement near a fast-food restaurant at Grandeur Terrace, 88 Tin Shui Road.

A 63-year-old man was pushed down to the ground in the chaos, who suffered from head injuries and fell into a coma. Several residents nearby witnessed the incident and called the police, whereas the attacker fled as officers arrived.

After an in-depth investigation, the police on Monday arrested a 61-year-old man.

The injured man was sent to Tuen Mun Hospital for emergency treatment but was certified dead yesterday at 3pm.

The 61-year-old, who was charged with one count of manslaughter, will appear at Tuen Mun Magistrates' Courts on Thursday.
