During the operation conducted Thursday afternoon, customs' officers intercepted the man outside a private residential building on Tong Yin Street and found two bags of crack cocaine, weighing 1.1kg in total, inside a paper bag carried by him.

He was then arrested and was further escorted to a flat nearby, where officers also sized some drug packaging equipment. .

Customs expected the drug would be mainly supplied to the east Kowloon district and added that flat was rented by the man under his name, with a monthly rate of HK$16,000.

Officers also believed the flat was used for drug packaging and as a warehouse, and they are still investigating the source of the drug.
