At around 4pm Monday, police received a report that a man shouted for help from inside a flat at Yin Tak House, Yin Lai Court.
Officers broke down the flat's door. They found an unconscious man in his 70s in the sitting room, with multiple knife wounds on his body and blood pooling on the floor.
He was sent to Princess Margaret Hospital.
Initial investigations revealed that the son had argued with his father, and took two fruit knives from the kitchen to attack the father. He was arrested and sent to hospital for checks.
Officers later reached the attacker's mother, who broke down in tears after hearing about the tragedy.
