John Lee Ka-chiu, a shoo-in to be the next chief executive, will announce his campaign manifesto tomorrow, a week before the poll on May 8, sources said.
Lee will review his manifesto at 11am in a meeting with members of the election committee and pro-establishment heavyweights, sources said, adding the meeting will be held in Wan Chai's Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.
It is widely circulated within political circles that Lee's manifesto will cover four main topics.
Three of the topics involve improving the city's governance, tackling housing shortages and boosting Hong Kong's international standing.
The fourth topic revolves around reshuffling the administration, an idea originally conceived in Chief Executive Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor's proposal in January.
The reshuffling will see the creation of two new deputy secretary posts and increase the number of policy bureaus to 15 from 13.
Earlier yesterday, more housing groups submitted their proposals for Lee's manifesto.
Raymond Tam Chi-yuen, one of 16 deputy directors of Lee's campaign office, said the proposals submitted cover topics such as health care, civil service, housing and district management.
Meanwhile, the Registration and Electoral Office has arranged several online and hands-on training sessions over the past few days for staff who will work in the main polling station and the central counting station on May 8.
