Lam Siu-hang enters second round of table tennis men's single

Hong Kong's Lam Siu-hang entered the second round of table tennis men's single after playing a tough match against Brian Afanador from Puerto Rico at Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium.

There are seven games in total and whoever wins four games gets to proceed to the next round.

Although Lam lost the first game, he equalized and once led Afanador by 3-2. Yet Afanador managed to won another game and played to a 3-3 tie.

Lam in the last game was able to withstand the pressure and beat Afanador 11-8, proceeding to the second round.

The 24-year-old said he was nervous in the beginning. However he switched tactics in game 4 when he was behind and performed much better since then, defeating his oppoent.

Lam in the next round will face Sathiyan Gnanasekaran from India tomorrow afternoon.
