The Leisure and Cultural Services Department tightened identity verification for booking sports facilities to curb touting.
Citizens who wish to make bookings for sports facilities using the Leisure Link Self-service Kiosk system must scan the original of their Hong Kong Identity cards starting noon on September 28.
All hirers must login to the system by scanning their original Hong Kong Identity cards. Login by inputting the HKID card number, or Leisure Link patron number and password into the Self-service Kiosk's touch screen at leisure venues will no longer be accepted.
For those without HKID cards, they can make bookings as usual by producing their proof of identity at any booking counters in person. They can also make the bookings through the Leisure Link e-Services System after registration as a Leisure Link patron.
