Hunt on for pervert hit and run cyclist

Police are searching for a male cyclist who has become notorious for terrorizing women in Tuen Mun by molesting them while passing by on a bicycle.

A 21-year-old woman reported she was jogging along Wu Hong Street at around 9pm when a cyclist passing by on her right grabbed her buttock hard.

She took to Facebook yesterday to describe the man, saying he was somewhere between 165 and 175 centimeters tall.

She added he has a slim build and was wearing a white shirt and a dark helmet at the time of the assault.

"I heard the sound of a bicycle coming closer and closer and I was about to move aside to let the cyclist pass. However, as the man passed, he grabbed my right buttock hard before speeding off. I froze in astonishment for two seconds and started to chase after him," she said.

However, she said the cyclist was too fast and she lost sight of him near the traffic lights opposite Tuen Mun Wu Hong Clinic.

"I went to every road nearby but he had already disappeared," she said.

"It seemed like he had done that many times before so I suspect he is a repeat offender. It certainly wasn't his first time assaulting a woman."

She went on to say she "was not afraid" as she "had done nothing wrong," adding: "May I take the opportunity to call on all women in Tuen Mun to stay alert when going out alone, especially in dark places. I will also be more careful in the future." The woman concluded that "if that pervert on the bicycle sees this post, I would like to tell him that he will be punished since he takes pleasure from the pain of others."

Hours later, she updated her post to say that she had received messages from two other women who experienced similar incidents on the same day.

"One of the victims said she was riding her skateboard near Fairview Park when she was groped by a man at around 7.45pm. He then groped me at 9pm before molesting another girl - also on a skateboard - 50 minutes later."

In response to The Standard's inquiries, police said the Tuen Mun crime investigation team is following up on the reports.

It added no arrest has been made thus far and officers are currently looking for a man wearing a white top, black shorts and a black and white helmet.
