The Embassy of Hungary in Manila celebrated on August 20 St. Stephen's Day which marks the foundation of the Hungarian State in the Year 1000 AD - an anniversary celebrated by Hungarians around the world.
To commemorate the momentous event, the Embassy held a special online film screening of the hit movie "Pappa Pia" which made available for 24 hours.
Pappa Pia is a feel-good musical about family and friends helping out, saving the home of an old man, a boathouse by turning it into a bar and concert venue. Complications and musical hits arise in great numbers when the competition shows up, intent on grabbing the valuable real estate for their own plans.
The said screening was part of Hungarian Film Festival's "Legendary Hungary" event dedicated only for St. Stephen's Day.
