Hong Kong retail sales rise 1.1 percent in December

Hong Kong's December retail sales rose 1.1 percent from a year earlier as economic sentiment improved alongside with further relaxation of social distancing measures, government data showed on Friday.

Sales increased to HK$33.7 billion. That compared with a revised 4.1 percent decline in November.

In volume terms, retail sales decreased 0.7 percent year-on-year in December. That compared with a revised 5.3 percent decrease in November.
