HK wins another gold in National Games

Cyclist Lee Sze-wing has snatched the last gold for the city in the Women's Individual (Road Cycling) event this afternoon, as over 100 Hong Kong athletes have completed the games, winning two gold and five bronze medals.

Secretary for Home Affairs Caspar Tsui Ying-wai said he was thrilled by Lee's victory, while president of the Legislative Council Andrew Leung Kwan-yuen congratulated local athletes on achieving excellent results at the games.

The games’s closing ceremony tomorrow will be attended by Chief Executive Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor, as the SAR will join hands with Guangdong province and Macao to host the next National Games in 2025.

Lam travelled from Chongqing to Xi’an today and met with around 20 track and field athletes from Hong Kong.

Long jump athlete Chan Ming-tai told Lam that there are insufficient track and field coaches in Hong Kong. In return, Lam said she will look into it.
