HK virus-free for 24 days despite flareups in region

Hong Kong has remained safe for more than 20 days, despite a resurgence in the coronavirus disease in cities in the region, the Chief Executive Carrie Lam said today.

Apart from a four-year-old boy diagnosed with the coronavirus disease recently, Hong Kong has gone 24 days without local infections whose origins can not be traced, she said.

Authorities will further investigate the boy’s diagnosis to check if it was a false positive.
