The heavy rains hit Panama this afternoon, after the passing of the first tropical wave, left several streets of the capital city flooded and fallen trees in different sectors of the country.
The National Civil Protection System (Sinaproc) warned that bad weather, according to Etesa, will last until 6:30 pm in sectors such as Panama East, Center and North, Panama West, Peninsula de Azuero, Gulf of Panama, Coclé, Veraguas , Comarca Guna Yala, Colón and Darién.
So far, Sinaproc has dealt with incidents such as flooding of homes in Eastern Panama, falling trees in Brisas del Golf, Arraiján; and in El Espino de La Chorrera.
Floods were recorded in sectors of the capital such as the Urracá park, via Argentina, via Spain, calle Uruguay, Los Pueblos and the Gran Estación de San Miguelito. While in the Unión Veragüense, Las Cumbres, there was a landslide where two houses were affected.
Sinaproc advises citizens that if they are at risk, they should immediately evacuate to a safe area and call 911 or 520-4426 / 29.
