Glass fell from height in Kwun Tong, damaging seven-seater

The windshield of a seven-seater driving along Wai Yip Street in Kwun Tong was damaged after it was hit by glass debris suspected to have fallen from a building on Tuesday morning.

The incident took place at 10.27am as the vehicle was traveling outside Manulife Financial Center on Wai Yip Street. The glass only damaged the windshield of the vehicle and no one was injured.

According to a photo uploaded by a netizen, a window near the top of the building shattered. It was suspected that the glass debris then fell onto the seven-seater.

As of 3.30pm, the Transport Department announced that all lanes of Wai Yip Street (Yau Tong bound) between Hoi Yuen Road and King Yip Street are closed to all traffic due to fallen subjects.

Affected bus routes have been diverted and the traffic there is congested.

Traffic queue on Wai Yip Street (Yau Tong bound) ends at Kwun Tong By-Pass near MegaBox, while motorists are advised to use alternative routes.
