Starting this Friday, May 22 and until June 5, fuel prices in Panama will reflect an increase in the demand for these products in the international market, as a result of the progressive liberation of important segments of the world economy, according to the National Secretary of Energy.
95 octane gasoline will be sold at 56 cents per liter, increasing its price 5 cents per liter. 91 octane gasoline will sell at 53 cents per liter, for an increase of 4 cents per liter. While diesel will cost 43 cents per liter, increasing 2 cents per liter.
The Secretariat's official statement explains that the variation in the prices of gasoline and diesel is mainly due to the fact that there is a tendency to use private vehicles for the mobilization of citizens, which has increased the demand.
"The oil and oil derivatives market is undergoing positive changes in the supply-demand dynamics, as it finds itself on the path to recovering its equilibrium prices, as the containment measures are lifted in most of the global economies, leaving behind the problems of instability and uncertainty due to the pandemic", reports the Secretariat on the increase.
