Free bus rides on KMB route 95 this Sunday

Hong Kong residents are in for a treat as Kowloon Motor Bus collaborates with Bonaqua to offer free rides on KMB Route 95 this coming Sunday.

To encourage the public to adopt a green lifestyle, bring their own bottles, and travel by public transport, a "Free KMB Rides by Bonaqua®Water Station" will be introduced on January 2.

Apart from the free rides, passengers can earn a HK$10 McDonald's coupon by purchasing the Bonaqua mineralized water and refilling their own containers at Jordan (West Kowloon Station) Bus Terminal that day.

Route 95 travels between Jordan and Tsui Lam. Passengers can alight at Jordan (West Kowloon Station) Bus Terminal to go to The West Kowloon Waterfront Promenade for cycling and picnicking.

Moreover, hiking lovers can get off at Hong Sing Garden, Tseung Kwan O, to get to the Little Hawaii Trail via the Wilson Trail and enjoy the view of the Little Hawaii Falls.

Passengers can also get off at Ma Yau Tong Village to visit the Mau Wu Shan Observation Post, a hundred-year-old ruined castle, via the Wilson Trail.

Meanwhile, KMB said the Bonaqua®?Water Station will be gradually installed at 90 other KMB bus stops to promote BYOB culture and allow passengers to practice a plastic-free lifestyle.

The water stations will be installed at bus stops near popular hiking spots throughout the territory, including MacLehose Trail, Tai Tam, and Lau Shui Heung.

Each station provides cold, hot, and room-temperature water, making it easier for citizens to refill mineralized water to their own containers when wandering around the streets or exploring the outdoors.

"The Water Stations are equipped with a unique hygienic design, featuring a Multi UV-C Sterilizer, dust barrier door which will be automatically unlocked after a transaction is made, and a hidden water tap to reduce the chance of direct contact with the water containers," said KMB in a statement.
