A four-year-old kid Kansas finished his sixth heart surgery yesterday which lasted for around eight hours.

Kansas was diagnosed with congenital heart defect and had undergone five surgeries earlier. The one conducted yesterday was his sixth, where he got a new artificial cardiac pacemaker and the circulatory system of his heart was rebuilt.

Kansas' parents updated his condition on Facebook last night, bringing the good news that Kansas finally finished this “endgame” surgery. He is now under observation and the surgery can be determined as successful if his body shows no sign of repelling in the following 48 hours.

The parents also thanked Barnabe Antonio Rocha, consultant in-charge for cardiothoracic surgery at Children's Hospital, as well as other medics who offered assistance during the surgery.

They also recalled mindful medics who offered anesthetics in different flavors, adding that Kansas in the end chose the strawberry-flavored one.

The couple expressed gratitude to netizens as well for showing strong support to Kansas along the way, which at the same time lifted their spirits.
