Five men were arrested after they fought over money at a birthday party at the India Club in Yau Ma Tei on Friday evening.

It is understood that a group of Indian men threw a birthday party at the club on Gascoigne Road and some of them started arguing over a money issue. The argument soon evolved into a brawl and over 10 Indian men assaulted each other with sticks and drinking glasses.

They also took the fight from inside the club to the streets.

Police received the report at 11.32pm last night and arrived on the scene with riot shields and police dogs.

As officers took control over the scene, they arrested five Indian men, aged 24 to 75, for fighting in public. A 31-year-old man sustained a facial injury, while two men aged 24 and 75 saw their legs wounded.

They were all sent to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in a conscious state.

The case is now being handled by the Yau Tsim district crime unit.
