Education secretary says teachers can decide the way of teaching national security education

Teachers should give national security lessons based on students; knowledge, interests and levels, Secretary for Education Kevin Yeung Yun-hung said.

Yeung said authorities have laid out the framework of national security education, provided teacher training, as well as created more teaching and learning resources.

But he said the actual way of teaching will be up to the teachers’ decisions.

The minister said it is still uncertain whether schools will resume face-to-face teaching in September though the vaccination rate of primary and secondary school students has been increasing recently.
