Information just reaching our news desk is that the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) and United Kingdom (UK) national, Kim Hollis QC, has tendered her resignation.
Hollis reportedly submitted her resignation letter last week.
Her final day on the job is December 13, 2019, according to sources.
Ms Hollis was appointed DPP effective August 29, 2016, by former Governor Mr John S. Duncan, OBE.
This news site had first and accurately reported that Hollis and then Senior Crown Counsel Valston M. Graham had emerged as the final two applicants to be considered for the post vacated by Trinidad national Wayne L. Rajbansie.
Mr Graham then went on to become the DPP in St Kitts and Nevis.
Ms Hollis had come under criticism earlier this year for the excessive wait for prisoners on remand.
She had blamed the courts and the backlog of cases owing to the lack of magistrates following the hurricanes of 2017.
