Disqualified lawmaker Dennis Kwok fled to Canada

Disqualified lawmaker Dennis Kwok Wing-hang has fled to Canada, reports said.

Following last year’s disqualification from Legislative Council, Kwok announced that he would no longer work as a politician on November 21. Although he said he had no plans to leave Hong Kong, it was revealed that he flew to London within a week and later flew to Canada.

He is currently in Vancouver, Canada, latest reports said.

Kwok was born in Edmonton, Alberta province, Canada, and has Canadian citizenship. He came back to Hong Kong in 1981 and was elected as a LegCo member in 2012 under the legal sector constituency.

He once claimed that he had abandoned his Canadian citizenship.

His wife and two sons arrived in Canada in mid February and joined Kwok. The property his wife holds in Tseung Kwan O is believed to be managed by other family members.
