Disney, dining, desserts at a bargain as 107 tours go live

By paying fees of between HK$80 and HK$200, people will be offered the chance to visit Disneyland, EcoPark or join milk tea and dessert workshops under the Tourism Board's "Hong Kong Summer Treats" campaign.

The board's second batch of tours - comprising 107 excursions - launches today. Significantly, only 10 "upgraded experiences" charge participants while the remaining 97 are free.

Starting 10am today, people can visit the local tours section on the campaign's website - holidayhk.com - to browse the trips on offer.

In order to be eligible, applicants must have spent a minimum of HK$800 on local dining or retail businesses on or after December 10, 2021.

The third and final batch - comprising some 40 tours - will debut next week.

In the meantime, the board said the second batch of tours "revolves around four themes - lively culture, neighborhoods, scenic harbor and 'gastro-fantasies' - and places authentic local culture as well as delightful culinary experiences at the forefront."

One of the tours gives participants the chance to make milk tea and ride in an open-top bus for HK$100. It also features a visit to the Sky100 observation deck for a 360-degree vista of the city. The tour ends with lunch at a Beijing Home restaurant.

Another tour takes participants to two of Hong Kong's popular tourist attractions - Disneyland and the West Kowloon Cultural District. Boasting a cost of HK$190, participants are guaranteed a significant discount as a single-day pass for Disneyland is currently priced at HK$639.

The most expensive tour on offer charges participants HK$200 for a visit to the Tai Tong Organic EcoPark in Yuen Long.

However, the board emphasized that all tours require participants to pay a HK$100 deposit and some operators may ask for proof of vaccination or conduct a rapid antigen test before departure.
