Former Deputy Speaker in the House of Assembly the late Delores Christopher is scheduled to be honoured at the Festival of the Arts event slated for November 2.
This was revealed by Culture Minister Dr Natalio Wheatley during a recent sitting in the House of Assembly.
The minister said the event was motivated by his recent visit to Trinidad & Tobago where he led a 19-member delegation to the CARICOM’s Festival of the Arts, also known as CARIFESTA.
“Participation in the festival has already provided dividends as the participants, since our return, have become involved in planning a Festival of the Arts to be held in the Queen Elizabeth II Park on 2nd November, a pre-culture week event, which will honour the late, great Delores Christopher,” Dr Wheatley stated.
“This event will be comprised of a full day of cultural activities, including music, dance, poetry, drama, fashion, and an art display and book fair and more,” he further said.
This event kicks off for the 25th year of Culture Week in the British Virgin Islands.
